Boutari Wineries celebrate

140+ years of quality winemaking
Boutari is one of the greatest and most historical companies of quality wine making in Greece. Since its establishment in 1879, by John Boutari, great-grand father of today’s President & C.E.O. Constantine Boutari, the company has set the foundations for the production of high quality wines.
Boutari played a monumental role to the rescue and further growth of local vineyards and indigenous grape varieties in all the regions that the company has been active with its wineries: in Naoussa, in Goumenissa, in Mantinia, in Attica, on Santorini, and on Crete. Boutari has been a pioneer for Greek wine tourism. In 1990 Boutari winery Santorini was the first Greek winery that offered organized tours and tastings.
Boutari’s presence with over 40 wines in 25 countries throughout the world, as well as the numerous awards and distinctions it has received to date, render the company a worthy Ambassador of top quality Greek wines in Greece and abroad.

Company Awards

2013 was a landmark year for Boutari because it has been honored for he 17th time with the very prestigious award “Winery of the Year” by Wine&Spirits Magazine, one of the most important wine publications worldwide. After this distinction, Boutari was ranked at the top 5 places at the Hall of fame along with famous US & international wineries. In 2008 Boutari was also the only Greek winery that won another very important award, the “European Winery of the year award” of “Wine Enthusiast”.  Last but not least Boutari was the only Greek winery invited to participate for the past two consecutive years at the Wine Spectator prestigious “New York Wine Experience event” with Naoussa Boutari 2011 in 2015 and with Grande Reserve 2008 in 2016. Boutari wines have won more than 570 awards at distinguished international competitions & top wine ratings at highly acclaimed wine magazines.
